Mo Salah has started his Liverpool career in blistering form and has equalled a record held by two previous Newcastle United players in the top flight.

The Egyptian has been involved in 27 goals in his first 25 games for Liverpool in the Premier League since his €50m summer move from Roma.

Sky Sports’ Martin Tyler in his weekly stats bulletin notes that Salah’s current tally was set by Andy Cole while at Newcastle in the 1993-94 campaign and he went on to finish the season with 34 goals in 40 league games with a further 13 assists.
